摘要: Pain in pediatric inpatients is prevalent, under-recognized, and undertreated. Proper pain management the inpatient setting essential to improving short- long-term clinical outcomes including maximum intensity, physical functioning, frequency of medication, reduce healthcare utilization costs such as mean number medical visits patient parent ratings satisfaction experience. Pediatric has evolved consist multimodal analgesia traditional analgesic medications, therapy exercise, psychotherapy, proper sleep hygiene techniques, stabilization life stressors other less traditional, non-pharmacological approaches. Inpatient now more opioid-sparing, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary therapy. Despite advancements assessment treatment options, can still be challenging due subjective nature which monitor (especially patients limited communication abilities), safety profiles variable responses medications patients, environmental psychosocial factors, trials conducted. In this chapter, we review aspects comprehensive differential diagnosis, assessment, treatment, hospital at discharge.
