摘要: The gravitational instability of a simple two‐layered medium resting on rigid base has been treated in terms the analog model Biot. In order to avoid complications purely mathematical nature which are unrelated physics process and do not affect results significantly, analysis is presented for two‐dimensional case. It shown that such system unstable if density contrast Δρ between top layer (overburden) bottom (salt) positive. physically important parameters viscosity ratio thickness overburden salt relative Δρ/ρ1.
