摘要: So far numerous antimicrobial peptides have been characterized from amphibians. In this work, a new family of peptides, named shuchin, was purified and skin secretions the frog, Rana shuchinae that lives in freezing mountains. Totally two members shuchin (shuchin 1 2) were identified with amino acid sequence NALSMPRNKCNRALMCFG NALSSPRNKCDRASSCFG, respectively. cDNAs encoding shuchins cloned cDNA library R. shuchinae. The precursors are composed 62 residues including conserved signal acidic propieces, mature peptides. Synthetic showed strong broad activities against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus; MICs<12.5 microg/ml), Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, dysenteriae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa; most MICs 3.1 to 12.5 yeast (Candida albicans; 6.25 but no hemolytic activity under effective concentration, thereby provide more leading templates for designing novel anti-infection agents.
