Machine-to-Machine Communications in Ultra-Dense Networks—A Survey

摘要: To achieve 1000-fold capacity increase in 5G wireless communications, ultradense network (UDN) is believed to be one of the key enabling technologies. Most previous research activities on UDNs were based very much human-to-human communications. However, provide ubiquitous Internet Things services, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications will play a critical role systems. As number machine-oriented connections increases, it expected that supporting M2M an essential requirement all future UDNs. In this paper, we aim bridge gaps between and UDNs, which commonly considered as two separate issues literature. The paper begins with brief introduction then discuss roles We identify different ways implement from perspectives layered architecture, including physical, media access control, network, application layers. Other important issues, i.e., security virtualization, also addressed. Before end give summary identified topics for studies.
