摘要: Levofloxacin (LFX) is a broad spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used in the treatment of infections such as pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, and sinusitis. The present study assessed likely toxic effect LFX on hepatic renal tissues rats. Twenty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups: A: control, B: 5 mg/kg bw (half therapeutic dose), C: 10 mg/kg bw (therapeutic D: 20 mg/kg bw (double dose). After seven days administration, result indicated significant increase plasma ALT, AST, ALP activities treated groups compared to control. Also, there was creatinine, urea, total bilirubin relative Plasma cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides also increased significantly MDA level all groups. However, SOD, catalase, GST reduced LFX-treated animals. Moreover, GSH ascorbic acid levels decreased In conclusion, three doses levofloxacin depleted antioxidant defense system induced oxidative stress dysfunctions
