摘要: The effect of the barley yellow dwarf virus on biology its vector, English grain aphid, Macrosiphum granariiun (Kirby), was investigated. oxygen consumption viruliferous and nonviruliferous aphids measured with a Warburg respirometer. A comparison results indicated reduction 13.8% in oxygen insects. The alteration metabolism infected individuals apparent their life histories. Longevity reproduction observations were conducted 3 experimental populations. One group (NV-NV) consisted that fed virus-free leaves. second (V-V) maintained exclusively leaves from virus-infested plants. nutritional factor minimized by third insects (V-NV) for 48 hr virus-infected then reared material. 2 groups tended to (1) have an increased rate development birth adult, (2) live longer, (3) longer reproductive period, (4) therefore produce greater total numbers progeny. The observed differences are considered as evidence active biological interaction between which is difficult classify either beneficial or pathological.
