摘要: Abstract The spinning mesh disc reactor (SMDR) is an innovative catalytic rotating to aid process intensification. In this study, the application of SMDR has been demonstrated for enzymatic kinetic resolution racemic 1-phenyethanol using amano lipase immobilised on wool as a catalyst. Physical characterisation was carried out confirm presence lipase. reaction tested range solvents and temperatures both free immobilized optimised conditions were employed in different flowrates speeds. showed better efficiency compared batch reactor: feed throughput scaled-up from 10 ml 250 ml productivity increased 7.05 g l−1 h−1 10.92 g l−1 h−1 SMDR. An increase catalyst loading achieved by adding more cloths rate 0.16 mmol min−1 (one cloth) 0.28 mmol (three cloths). These results show first demonstration novel design scale-up inexpensive thus shows potential continuous processing versatile applications fine chemicals pharmaceutical industry.
