摘要: Abstract Circular economy (CE) is gaining popularity at different levels with the promise of creating more sustainable processes. In this context, cities are implementing a number initiatives that aim to turn them into circular systems. Whether these achieve their sustainability goals, however, largely unknown. Nevertheless, as application CE strategies actively encouraged by many policies across globe, there need quantify environmental impacts and identify support urban sustainability. This paper analyses extent which research focuses on quantifying balance promoted municipal level. To end, analysis scanned reported in around globe classified targets strategies. parallel, conducted review literature uses industrial ecology tools account for Results show diverse geographical representation, concentrated Europe, whereas research, main results came from China. general, encourage relating infrastructure (47%), additional focus social consumption aspects, such repair reuse actions. comparison, mainly addressed business practices (58%), but approach was similar cities, both special interest waste management. Research has yet assess planning strategies, latter essential defining other elements. Hence, define select quest circularity. practice can also benefit working collaboratively so prioritize best fit features each area.
