摘要: Abstract This study investigates the use of water for extracting shale gas in Sichuan Basin China. Both net and intensity (i.e., per unit produced) wells are estimated by applying a process-based life cycle inventory (LCI) model. The results show that around 24500 m3/well 1.9 m3 water/104 m3 respectively, fracturing completion stage extraction accounts largest share use. A comparison shows China's is generally higher than other countries. By considering predicted annual drilling activities Basin, we find demand development likely to be negligible compared total regional supply. However, from sectors may make availability significant concern future.
