摘要: Abstract Enteroviruses cause illnesses ranging from benign upper respiratory infections to severe meningitis and encephalitis. A recent uptick in the number of patients, many them children, with caused by enterovirus 68 (EV-D68) has captured attention health care providers public administrators. In United States, this type infection was confirmed 1152 people during 2014. This article examines trends EV-D68 infections, reviewing past outbreaks 2014 outbreak, describes increasing cases acute flaccid myelitis their possible connection EV-D68.
