H2 production of (CdS–ZnS)–TiO2 supported photocatalytic system

摘要: Abstract Mixed semiconductor (CdS–ZnS)–TiO 2 (1 : 1 1) mixture system over different supports like MgO, CaO, γ -Al O 3 , SiO and modified MgO have been prepared, characterized tested for H production in a S 2− ⧸ SO solution. (D) support wherein the TiO taken is from Degussa sample gives 206.7 μ mol⧸h of this catalyst sustain rate longer durations. Dopants Li O, Cs or K make CaO act super basic oxide when they are doped turn increase photocatalytic activity. The (I) Titanium Isopropoxide, supported on 20 wt% found to give 209.8 production. Characterization studies UV-Visible spectra, X-ray Diffraction spectra Scanning Electron Microscope photographs were all catalysts data generated these samples evaluated. A scheme decomposition ZnCdS–TiO (D⧸I) presence substrate, proposed indicating formation thiosulfate cycle at heterojunction. © 1999 International Association Hydrogen Energy.
