摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter describes polytene chromosomes of plants. Polytene chromosome structures occur in highly endopolyploid interphase nuclei. They are cable-like bundles sister that the result endocycles, is, chromosome-replication cycles without nuclear division. The reviews findings plants and their development structure comparison with giant Diptera. functional evolutionary aspects polyteny also discussed. help to elucidate biological significance non-protein-coding DNA. Within cell nucleus, huge amount never expressed DNA exhibits different conformations due its sequence diversity is reflected by conformational differences chromatin. Thus, chromatin domains, or bands, can react electrodynamic environments, hence release specific patterns domains into active conformation. Polyteny be utilized as a model system for understanding role determining direction differentiation. Plant nuclei high structural variability useful study interrelationships among environment, content, function, relation key organization.
