摘要: Abstract. A new approach for estimating methane emission at mud volcanoes is here proposed based on measurements of the seismic tremor their surface. Data obtained Dashgil volcano in Azerbaijan reveal presence energy bursts characterized by well-determined features (i.e. waveforms, spectra and polarization properties) that can be associated with bubbling depth. Counting such events provides a possible tool monitoring gas production reservoir, thus minimizing logistic troubles representing cheap effective alternative to more complex approaches. Specifically, we model as effect resonant bubbles This modelling allows estimate dimension and, consequently, outflow from main conduit assumption all emissions depth occur bubble uprising. The application this detected during three sessions carried out 2006 2007 flux estimates are line those provided independent same structure. encouraging result suggests one could considered promising, easy apply seepage areas.
