摘要: This chapter reviews scholarly literature and theory related to parenting parent-child/adolescent relationships in Chile. Consistent with most other societies, families play an important role Chilean society, a fundamental aspect of which is the parent-child relationship. begins brief overview country itself then introductory description society family life. Following this Chile that based on previous studies as well insights from existing data sets (e.g., Global School-Based Student Health Survey World Organization Cross National Adolescent Social Competence Study). Key practices are both prevalent outcomes theoretically relevant ways among families. Many findings similar what one would expect find United States or Western countries, thus presence influence individualistic collectivistic values apparent. Recommendations for future research include focus greater conceptual clarity, frequent cross-cultural comparisons, equal sampling mothers fathers, development/validation implementation psychometrically sound measurement instruments.
