摘要: Beam dampers comprising a stiff, lightweight, elongate beam and layer of viscoelastic material located along an attachment flange the are disclosed. The flanges is attached by to skin structure whose vibrations be damped. While having cross-sectional I-shape preferred, other shapes can used, such as L, Z, U T-shapes. Regardless their shapes, acts constraining element for layer. oriented that it stiff in plane transverse skin, resulting thickness deformation (rather than shear deformation) converting vibration energy into heat.
