摘要: An important aspect of designing information displays to support monitoring and decision-making in critical care is the representation change patient data over time. We systematically reviewed articles identify novel alternatives tabular single variable plots values time convey about multiple related variables. Following screening 5,119 articles, 28 met our inclusion criteria. They described 26 unique evaluated 31 experiments. Methods for representing varied widely. classified these methods as enhanced graphical (enhanced quantitative time), other (novel object metaphoric displays), small multiples (multiple co-presented graphic simple indicator displays. Overall, findings value an explicit display trend using many different approaches. Few studies directly compared displaying ways that would broader conclusions which approaches may be preferred specific applications. The suggest that, trends, it feasible develop electronic will outperform both historical paper-based flowcharts current health record (EHR)-based There evidence even minor improvements such automatic presentation line trends on EHRs or addition indicators direction monitors could lead clinically meaningful diagnostic accuracy efficiency.
