摘要: Abstract In this paper, we present a simple annealing procedure (which refer to as ‘flash annealing’ because of its short duration) that results in the formation an ultralow-friction surface film on vanadium diboride (VB 2 ) surfaces. This is performed box furnace at 800°C for period 5 min. During annealing, exposed VB undergoes oxidation and forms layer boron oxide (B O 3 ). open air, B reacts spontaneously with moisture boric acid (H BO film. The friction coefficient 440C steel pin against H approximately 0.05, compared 0.8 as-received . Based Raman spectroscopy electron microscopy studies, elucidate mechanism flash-annealed
