Factors influencing local people’s participation in sustainable forest management

摘要: Every year, a great part of forests in Iran is ruined for various reasons. Meanwhile, the main factor responsible deforestation and environmental challenges environmentally irresponsible behavior people. Thus, goal present research was to discover determinant factors participation local communities sustainable forest management (SFM) Iran. The conceptual framework study developed through reviewing relevant literature. statistical population consisted Kerman province, southeastern Data were collected via questionnaire analyzed by SPSS software package. results indicated that nearly 70% did not participate SFM sufficiently. In addition, hierarchical regression among 25 studied variables, 10 variables (education, communities’ participation, extension conservation methods, favorable attitude towards management, reducing livelihood dependence on forest, increasing non-forested income, indirect use, improving exploiters’ knowledge awareness, information channels, resources, specifying boundaries with people participation) had positive significant impact farmers’ accounted total variance factors. can be used natural resources environment policymakers develop adopt policies alleviate degradation.
