摘要: Weekly personal NO2 exposures of 246 children aged 3-6 years were measured with Palmes tubes during 13 weeks in winter and spring 1991. Measurements made eight day-care centers the downtown suburban areas Helsinki, Finland. At same time, inside outside concentration ambient air fixed site measurements conducted. found to be applicable for exposure preschool children, but rather high sample losses could expected. The geometric mean levels 13-week period was 26.5 micrograms/m3 17.5 area. Gas stove smoking at home increased significantly NO2. weekly population correlated poorly (R2 = 0.37), much better 0.88 0.86). In groups between variations only 14% 28% total variations, which dominated by within child variation. Stationary sites explained variation well spring, not winter. A regression model, where data from center measurements, monitors, residential area characteristics (i.e., gas stove, home, type dwelling) included, 32% 67% spring. absence both stationary questionnaire information are useful estimating exposures.
