摘要: Infrared thermography (IRT) is a powerful non contact imaging technique, appropriate for the protection of cultural heritage. The National Technical University Athens research team (scientist responsible: A. Moropoulou), started to use this technique in early 1990s, all stages conservation project, from decay diagnosis assessment interventions and monitoring. monuments investigated with aid belonged different historical periods, dating antiquity modern times. main products IRT, thermal maps surfaces, were evaluated exploited, based on demands, special needs requirements each application. Additionally, laboratory scale, many IRT measurements performed order investigate applicability limitations measuring material’s thermophysical properties. All these data accumulated knowledge experience contributed set recommendations, which enabled us compile protocol application more standardized way. Moreover, added value practice permitted successful integration large-scale projects, such as Pythian Apollo Temple Acropolis Rhodes, during diagnostic study phase, or at Holy Aedicule, Selphuchre Jerusalem, rehabilitation works.
