摘要: Background: In the last decade of 20th century, a considerable effort has been put into development summary measures population health that combine information on mortality and non-fatal outcomes. We used DALYs (Disability adjusted life years) method to assess burden disease injury in Serbia. Methods: Our study, largely based methods developed for Global was conducted between October 2002 September 2003. DALYs, stratified by gender age, were calculated 18 selected conditions Serbia, Serbia Montenegro 2000. Years lost (YLL) using country statistics, while years lived with disability (YLD) different sources information. Also, YLD/YYL ratio age-adjusted rates calculated. Results: Ischaemic heart disease, cerebrovascular diseases, lung cancer, unipolar depressive disorders, diabetes mellitus responsible almost two-thirds (70%) total disorders The leading five causes males ischaemic (26.1 DALY per 1000), stroke (17.9), cancer (12.7), road traffic accidents (6.5), self-inflicted injuries (5.5). For females, (18.1 (14.1), depression (8.7), breast (6.1), (5.2). Conclusions: final results study have shown national priority areas should cover cardiovascular cancers, mental health.
