摘要: Omega-Cyclohexyl undecanoic acid and omega-cyclohexyl tridecanoic were found in 10 strains of acido-thermophilic bacteria isolated from different Japanese hot springs. These unusual fatty acids the esterified form glyceride type complex lipids constituted 74 to 93% total bacteria. The other than 14-methyl hexadecanoic (3 15%) 15-methyl (1 6%), trace amounts straight chain methyl-branched tetra- penta-decanoic acids. Biosynthesis increased with increase concentration glucose culture medium. metabolism was studied using deuterium-labeled precursors by mass fragmentation analysis. deuterium [2-D]glucose specifically incorporated into position 2 cyclohexyl ring acids, indicating that synthesized molecule. Radioactivity efficiently labeled glucose, shikimate, carboxylate. findings indicate are through shikimic probably carboxylyl-CoA derivative as intermediates.
