摘要: Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a form of radiation mediated by the short-range (less than 10 microns) energetic alpha (4He) and lithium-7 (7Li) ionizing particles that result from prompt disintegration slow neutrons stable (nonradioactive) nucleus boron-10 (10B). Recent advances in radiobiological toxicological evaluation tumour-affinitive boron-containing drugs optimization energies incident beam have spurred interest BNCT. This article presents history BNCT emphasizes studies USA. A new dosimetric analysis 1959-1961 clinical trials at Brookhaven National Laboratory also presented. yields an acute dose tolerance limit estimate approximately Gy-Eq to capillary endothelium human basal ganglia (Gy-Eq: Gray-equivalent, or relative biological effectiveness component multiplied physical (Gy), summed over kinds radiation.)
