摘要: Breath hydrogen levels, which reflect colonic fermentation of undigested starches, are usually low in the fasted state. Fasting levels breath important for estimation oro-cecal transit time and diagnosis lactase deficiency. In young women, however, fasting high. To clarify reason this, we studied circadian pattern effect α-D-galactosidase on one study, sleep deprivation another 13 women students aged 21–23 years. first two samples were collected, evening other next morning. On occasion, was given before dinner collected second rhythm assessed 3 days subjects deprived night. every 30 min, except during night when at 1-h intervals. 24 ± 3.9 ppm (mean SE), did not differ from value previous significantly decreased to 17 2.4 (P < 0.05). There a clear hydrogen, high morning decreasing nadir by 16:00. After dinner, level increased again stayed Sleep affect hydrogen. High followed this may have been due, part, an intake dietary fiber day.
