摘要: The following review summarizes the research concerning characteristics of at-risk students. Surprisingly, students have not been extensively studied. However, as discussion social structure will document, available clearly demonstrates that single most consistent factor characterizing is class. Social class a powerful determinant school success, and, consequence, are disproportionately drawn from families with low socioeconomic status. Fortunately, researchers, especially sociologists, devoted considerable energy to studying impact on educational success. While these researchers singled out for special study, their findings why lower-socioeconomicstatus do less well in than children middle-class can be extrapolated population. relatively few studies focusing exclusively support this link. They suggest factors underlying poorer performance lower-socioeconomic-status also account much variance between who and those not.
