摘要: This paper is the outcome of fourth UC Davis Systems Approach to Understanding Cardiac Excitation-Contraction Coupling and Arrhythmias Symposium, a biannual event that aims bring together leading experts in subfields cardiovascular biomedicine focus on topics importance field. The theme 2016 symposium was 'K+ Channels Regulation'. Experts field contributed their experimental mathematical modelling perspectives discussed emerging questions, controversies challenges topic cardiac K+ channels. summarizes formal presentations informal discussions from structural basis voltage-gated channel function, as well mechanisms involved regulation gating, expression membrane localization. Given critical role for channels determining rate repolarization, it hardly surprising essentially every aspect function exquisitely regulated myocytes. complex highly interrelated other aspects myocardial function. regulatory alter, are altered by, physiological challenges, pathophysiological conditions, pharmacological agents. An accompanying focuses integrative electrophysiology, i.e. how currents shape action potential, dysfunction can lead arrhythmias, discusses channel-based therapeutics. A fundamental understanding disease processes reveal new targets human therapy.
