摘要: This article explores the history of lupus erythematosus from origins name to most modern therapeutic advances. The review includes information about origin "lupus," first clear description skin lesions, discovery systemic and discoid forms, further advances which define our current view this illness. classical descriptions Hippocrates, Paracelsus, Manardi, Rudolph Virchow, Cazenave, Robert Willan, Moritz Kaposi are chronologically described. Later, contributions Sir William Osler, Jonathan Hutchinson, Sequira Balean, Kraus Bohac, Libman Sacks, Malcolm Hargraves, Edmund L. Dubois highlighted. major breakthroughs period, including diagnostic tests, animal models, genetics, briefly ends with drug-induced lupus, criteria, therapy erythematosus. With advances, mortality rate has decreased substantially. It is hoped that research will improve prognosis disease in near future.
