摘要: A fast and effective wound healing process would substantially decrease medical costs, care supplies, hospitalization significantly improving the patients' quality of life. The search for therapeutic approaches seems to be imperative in order avoid aggravation chronic wounds. In spite all efforts that have been made during recent years towards development artificial dressings, none currently available options combine requirements necessary quick optimal cutaneous regeneration. Therefore, technological advances area temporary permanent smart dressings are required. nanoscience nanotechnology can improve materials designs used topical efficiently release antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory regenerative compounds speeding up endogenous process. Nanostructured overcome limitations current coverings and, separately, natural origin components also drawbacks antibiotics antiseptics (mainly cytotoxicity, antibiotic resistance, allergies). combination with demonstrated antibiotic, regenerative, or properties together nanostructured is a promising approach fulfil needed next generation bioactive dressings. Microbially compromised wounds treated different essential oils, honey, cationic peptides, aloe vera, plant extracts, other occurring anti-inflammatory, but evidence limited insufficient able draw reliable conclusions extrapolate those findings clinical practice. some preliminary results indicate future comparative studies justified instead talking about beneficial inert effects materials, scientific community leads identification main active involved their mechanism action corresponding healing, processes carrying out systematic controlled tests. Once identified efficacy validated through solid trials, within open new avenues fabrication outstanding characteristics care. motivation this work analyze state art use as aim clarifying potential We conclude that, more trials reach sufficient level agents management.
