摘要: A study was condu cted to evaluate and com pare the mineral status o f grazing water buffalo Charolais ca ttle in north central Florida. Soils were found deficient selenium, low-to-deficient magnesium, potassium, copper zinc. Forages (bahiagrass bermudagrass) cobalt, copper, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, among other m inerals. Low forage ineral concentrations illustra te problems encoun tered by rum inants during fall winter seasons Th ey also demonstrate ne ed for supplem entation of a nimals prevent deficiencies possible decreases productivity. Water cows had greater serum iron, lower phosphorus selenium than cows. No difference seen calcium. Although differences this study, comparative literature demonstrated large variability; it cited no apparent species concentrations. tended consume less supplement per head; however, further contro lled experimentation is neede d determine whether th true difference.
