The influence of socioeconomic status on gestational weight gain: a systematic review.

摘要: Background Despite a large number of publications regarding the association between socioeconomic status (SES) and gestational weight gain (GWG), literature is inconsistent. We conducted systematic review current evidence relating to SES GWG, according Institute Medicine (IOM) 2009 guidelines. Methods Six electronic databases were searched, with final search run on first July 2016. The PRISMA Statement guidelines followed modified version RTI Item Bank was used assess risk bias within studies. primary outcome inadequate, adequate or excessive as per IOM Results Sixteen studies included. There positive skew in that indicated those who are less well educated most at gaining outside recommendations. Other measures not significantly associated GWG. Conclusions Low educational attainment likely be women recommendations for Healthcare providers should provide additional support pregnant recommendations, thus reducing gap health inequalities high low SES.
