摘要: Abstract Enhanced coal bed methane recovery (ECBM) consists in injecting carbon dioxide reservoirs order to facilitate the of methane. The injected gets adsorbed at surface pores, which causes swell. This swelling confined conditions leads a closure reservoir cleat system, hinders further injection. In this work we provide comprehensive framework calculate macroscopic strains induced by adsorption porous medium from molecular level. Using thermodynamic approach extend realm poromechanics energy and stress. We then focus on how stress is modified estimate behavior with simulations. developed here applied specific case CO 2 -injected coal, although it relevant any problem strains.
