摘要: Traunsee, a 191 m deep Alpine lake in Austria, is affected by industrial tailings from the soda and salt mining industries since 1883. In 1998 littoral water chloride concentrations ranged between 40 85 mg L-1 highest conductivity was 560 μS cm-1, which almost double as high values reported two nearby reference lakes. Chloride increased towards location of emission into lake. Analogously to gradient, epilithic diatom flora changes waste inlet. Shifts species percentages source, percentage taxa with large tolerances, presence small Achnanthes minutissima Kutzing morphotype, occurrences focused at habitats higher electrolyte content, indicate subtle impacts on flora. An analysis seasonal succession diatoms inlet compared intern site, reveals that only during late summer period assemblage became significantly different, indicating seasonally restricted effects emissions.
