摘要: Background and aims: Gambling-related crimes are known to be associated with gambling disorder (GD). Due a lack of consensus in the scientific community regarding relevance this diagnostic criterion, it was removed from DSM-5. The primary aim study investigate through structural equation modeling (SEM) whether higher GD severity treatment-seeking patients criminal record is mediated illegal acts criterion itself, or can better explained by other related clinical factors. Methods: An initial sample 2,081 seeking treatment for problems included sample. SEM used evaluate mediational role between sex, age personality traits, severity, comorbid depression levels. Comparisons coinciding divergent DSM diagnosis were carried out. Results: Illegal relationship traits severity: younger age, high levels novelty seeking, low self-transcendence increased risk endorsing criterion.
