摘要: Palladium has long been recognised for its hydrogen sorption and separation capabilities. Alloying with different metals to produce binary alloys shown further improve many of essential properties significantly. Currently palladium-silver are used commercially the purification process, however, other have also significantly (palladium-yttrium), palladium’s resistance poisoning by sulphide (palladium-copper). Whilst a number palladium previously investigated none all required target an effective membrane as set US DoE. This work will study palladium, yttrium, copper, ternary varying copper compositions, investigate their characteristics suitable material. The produced membranes, be characterised using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, hardness measurements, use confocal microscope then tested flow rig, determine suitability Results showed that addition small amount Pd-8at%Y alloy leads marked changes in key parameters relevant performance. lattice parameter was increased, flow, materials hardness, whilst average grain size reduced.
