摘要: Once the operational life of electronics component is over, it becomes part electronic waste (e-waste). Afterwards, either dumped in landfills or recycled for metallic constituents. Landfills, long run, are proven hazardous. Recycling approach also leaves a significant energy footprint on environment. This article presents brief insight into harmful impacts e-waste. Primary aim this work to justify importance adjusting new technology according conventional one so that working components from obsolete can be utilized optimally. Prototype compact 3D printer and scanner combo presented here, as solution. The main system, namely stepper motors, power supply, supporting structure, salvaged Interfacing control codes (novel aspects work) developed automation. Performance compared with commercial printer. found suitable (even performing at par) samples (wall thickness $$0.1mm$$ ). inter-convertibility act will become necessary when technologies like 5G, electric vehicle take over existing leaving e-waste dispose. It expected philosophy, if integrated industrial level by encouraging protocols product development manpower training, would reduce burden
