Contribution to the ecological quality of Aliakmon river (Macedonia, Greece): a multivariate approach

摘要: In the present study, an attempt was made to estimate water quality of Aliakmon river using five biotic scores (based on benthic macroinvertebrates), physicochemical variables and multivariate data analyzes. Benthic chemical samples were obtained from 20 sites, during low flow season (September, 1995). macroinvertebrates collected with three minute kick-sweep method several parameters (D.O., pH, temperature, nutrients etc.) measured. The techniques FUZZY CANOCO applied data. appeared have poorer than high as determined by comparison a previous survey undertaken in April 1995. upstream sites had better downstream sites. performance generally satisfactory, but some cases they deficient distinguishing between running waters good excellent quality. On contrary, multifactorial analyzes, which consider abundance taxonomic groups, be more appropriate for classification based structure their biocommunities.
