摘要: Amino acids and amino sugars comprise the bulk of soil N, so information on their chemical forms cycling patterns should enable better understanding N cycling. In this study samples that had received animal manure, we evaluated capabilities a recently developed analysis for compounds (19 acids, two sugars) consists methanesulfonic acid extraction, anion chromatography, pulsed amperometry detection. Soil were taken from 28-d laboratory incubation nine soils six orders in U.S. states amended with dairy manure slurry at rate to simulate 300 kg ha −1 . Manuring resulted enrichment by nearly all measured but varying degrees. These enriched levels relatively stable against mineralization during short-term incubation, most having decreased modestly concentration (mean 11%) end contrast slight increases 3%) three are associated microbial activity not overly abundant manure: ornithine, glucosamine, galactosamine. Several measurements extracted varied signifi cantly among soils. Our results illustrated some shortcomings analytical approach, including instability small peaks need second extraction mode maximize certain compounds. We identifi ed 41 43% total as treatments, which is comparable reported previously conventional involving HCl cation chromatography. Compared analysis, approach might more effi ciently extract basic less acidic acids. Overall found be useful analysis.
