摘要: The species of the Drosophila fasciola subgroup Wasserman represent dominant section repleta group in American rainforests and have a broad geographical distribution New World. However, despite its wide range, D. is one most overlooked subgroups. Here, we report molecular phylogenetic analysis focused on using two mitochondrial [cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI), cytochrome II (COII)] nuclear [elongation factor-1alpha F1 (EF-alphaF1) transformer (tra)] genes. Overall, found that this monophyletic taxon, subdivided into main internal branches: named Fas1 Fas2 clades. diversification these clades estimated to begun middle Miocene, around 12 Ma [95% high posterior density (HPD) 9.0–15 Ma], might be associated with colonization South America by Central populations after closure Isthmus Panama due temporal congruence between events. terminal branches had their origins Pliocene or Plio-Pleistocene transition. For later estimates, both geomorphological influences climatic oscillations Pleistocene may played role shaping group.
