摘要: Posttranslational arginylation mediated by arginyl transferase (ATE1) plays an important role in cardiovascular development, cell motility, and regulation of cytoskeleton metabolic enzymes. This protein modification was discovered decades ago, however, the reaction functioning ATE1 remained poorly understood because lack good biochemical models. Here, we report development vitro system, which function molecular requirements can be tested using purified recombinant isoforms supplemented with a controlled number components. Our results show that is self-sufficient, ATP-independent process affect different sites polypeptide transferases form complexes vivo, associate components translation machinery, have distinct, partially overlapping subsets substrates, suggesting these enzymes play physiological functions.
