摘要: Multitouch tablets, such as iPad and Android support virtual keyboards for text entry. Our 64-user study shows that 98% of the users preferred different keyboard layouts positions depending on how they were holding these devices. However, current tablets either do not allow adjustment or require to manually adjust keyboards. We present iGrasp, which automatically adapts layout position based where are grasping devices without requiring explicit user input. prototype uses 46 capacitive sensors positioned along sides an sense users' grasps, supports two types grasp-based automatic adaptation: switching continuous positioning. 18-user studies show participants able begin typing 42% earlier using iGrasp's adaptive compared adjustable keyboard. Participants also rated iGrasp much easier use than (4.2 vs 2.9 five-point Likert scale.)
