摘要: [1] A recent observation shows that large-amplitude whistler waves propagating obliquely with respect to the ambient magnetic field may be responsible for energizing radiation belt electrons relativistic energies (MeV) within a time scale as short fraction of second. Test-particle simulations available in literature invariably adopt simple model wave forms oblique whistlers, such rigorous analysis these have not been performed this date. The present Letter solves fully nonlinear cold electron fluid equation whistlers. Relativistic test particle simulation is then over exact solutions, and it shown population initially low energy can accelerated (10) MeV energies, few seconds scale.
