摘要: This paper reports on a planned upgrade to the capabilities of Illinois Institute Technology’s BioCAT undulator beamline in an effort increase photon flux 10 100-fold. is accomplished by addition double multilayer monochromator (MLM) system complementing existing cryogenically-cooled crystal silicon system. The water-cooled MLMs are designed and fabricated with each having two coated stripes deliver 12 keV beam either 1.0% or 0.5% energy bandwidths (BW). To simplify mechanical design operation MLM system, coatings have been same period thickness so that BW selection (at Bragg angle) mere horizontal translation MLMs. challenge has find pair provide desired BWs high reflectivity at incident angle. was achieved using MoSi2/B4C Mo/MoSi2/B4C/MoS2 multilayers angle 1.194°. reflectivities attained 0.52 83.33% for former 0.86 75.9% latter.
