摘要: SUMMARY S receiver functions obtained from seismograms of teleseismic events recorded at 78 European permanent broad-band stations are used to estimate the thickness lithosphere. Our results provide new, independent information about lithospheric beneath Precambrian platform Eastern Europe and Phanerozoic central Europe. Detailed high-resolution images lithosphere–asthenosphere boundary (LAB) reveal indications for a typical continental lithosphere 100 km majority within Central Europe, whereas in vicinity Trans-European Suture Zone (TESZ), thickens 130 km. A relatively thin 80 was found Upper Rhine Graben region suggesting that Cenozoic extension affects whole No clear signal LAB detected Alps Carpathians. The Sp phase might be disturbed by complicated structure due ongoing collision/subduction these regions, or data not yet sufficiently dense. thicker 120 SW part Bohemian Massif formed during Variscan orogeny. We an depth 190 near single station located Vrancea area/Eastern Carpathians, which is characterized occurrence intermediate deep earthquakes. Beneath deepens approximately >200 km, even though converted as sharp other missing.
