摘要: Previous studies show that first-order statistical properties of ultrasound echo signals are related to the effective number scatterers in "resolution cell" a pulse-echo system. When is large (/spl sim/10 or more) this results whose amplitude follows Rayleigh distribution, with RF signal obeying Gaussian statistics; deviation from statistics yields information on scatterer densities. In paper, influence medium's attenuation non-Gaussian considered. Preferential higher frequency components pulsed beam effectively broadens and increases resolution cell size. Thus, resultant parameter for broad bandwidth excitation transducer depends not only density but also medium. These effects can be reduced eliminated by using narrow-band experiments.
