摘要: Because most small-cell lung cancers (SCLC) are initially chemosensitive and express neuroendocrine (NE) cell markers non-SCLC tumors (NSCLC) chemoresistant do not NE markers, we investigated the association between morphological type differentiation with in vitro chemosensitivity. We tested a panel of 55 cancer lines established from previously untreated patients. These were against five cytotoxic drugs commonly used therapy cancer, using MTT assay. For comparative purposes, also treated patients SCLC colorectal tumors. The logarithms IC50 values all normally distributed, permitting use Student's t-test for assessment differences. In general, sensitivities SCLC, NSCLC, mirrored clinical experience these tumor types. Cell started more resistant than those who responded to initial therapy. lines, highly significantly correlated each other. Thus, group could be assigned an average standardized mean rank. About 15% NSCLC multiple 4 5 NSCLC-NE relatively chemosensitive, similar different other lines. Other included bronchial carcinoids carcinomas arising extra-pulmonary locations (ExPuSC).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
