摘要: If women's rights norms have become internationally acknowledged, is it reasonable to assume that the status of women worldwide has improved because international norms? It argued here assumption a global-to-local flow inherent in most global norm diffusion literature simplistic. To provide more adequate theoretical framework, paper juxtaposes debate on impact regimes and power with an interdisciplinary mix transnational approaches identify multidirectional processes appropriation contestation norms. Departing from Convention Elimination All Forms Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) as authoritative steady piece discourse, perspective developed proposes three main constellations traveling norms: discourse translation, distorted translation.
