摘要: Abstract The acid-base status is a tightly regulated physiological process, resulting from balance of ions in the organism relevant to acid-base. efficiency regulatory systems importantly determines compensatory pH changes for given disturb. Vertebrates minimize (or compensate) an disturb by general processes, which include ion transfer and/or PCO2 changes. Acid–base adjustment fish predominantly achieved branchial exchange with correlated change plasma HCO3– levels. Conversely, land vertebrates blood through ventilatory process and hence respiratory control acid–base regulation plays important role as mechanism. Lungfishes (Dipnoi) have central position on vertebrate's evolution being considered sister group tetrapods. With aquatic life mode, lungfish share similarities function This article reviews evidence showing that lungfish's system regulates status, like terrestrial ectothermic vertebrates. In South American lungfish, Lepidosiren paradoxa, presence CO2/pH chemoreceptors was unequivocally described. Also, are typical vertebrate. These aspects discussed under different environmental conditions require adjustments, such as, exposure hypercarbia, hypoxia, high temperature aestivation. Interesting questions regarding location cell phenotype peripheral remain open field be explored lungfish.
