摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the molecular systematics of wasp and polydnavirus (PDVs) genomes their coevolution. Polydnaviruses are integrated, inherited DNA viral endosymbionts parasitoid wasps found within some lineages Braconidae Ichneumonidae that attack caterpillars (larval Lepidoptera). Due to chromosomal integration mode inheritance, phylogenomic relationships among PDVs closely tied phylogenetic host carry them. We have inferred must at least three independent ancient origins in wasps: bracoviruses (BVs) from ancestral nudiviruses associated with braconid wasps, ichnoviruses, “banchoviruses” still unidentified progenitor viruses unrelated families Ichneumonidae. Phylogenetic studies BV-carrying lineage now guiding comparative BV advancing our understanding roles genes may play evolution wasp/caterpillar parasitic relationships.
