摘要: Interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding protein (IRBP) purified from monkey interphotoreceptor matrix contains relatively high concentrations of endogenous fatty acids, 6.51 mol/mol protein. Sixty-five percent the total acid bound to IRBP was found be noncovalently attached, with remainder covalently bound. The acids are not residual components phospholipids or neutral lipids, as judged by microchemical methods. major are: palmitic (35%), stearic (21%), palmitoleic (7%), oleic (29%), linoleic (6%) and docosahexaenoic (2%). These account for about 90% proteins extracted organic solvents. Thus, may function an intercellular carrier depend on anchoring in outer leaflet cell membranes.
