摘要: In a study of the minor element chemistry ostracode shells, Wansard and Mezquita (2001) concluded that Mg/Ca Sr/Ca ambient water controlled respective ratios in calcite. Contrary to their conclusion is not influenced by temperature, we find very strong statistical correlation (r = 0.97) between temperature shell data. This discrepancy apparently arises due use partition coefficient model masks number correlations We argue here appropriate for this biologically-mediated carbonate, broader range possible controls on needs be tested.
